I can not believe we have started 9th grade homeschool. High school!??!

9th grade homeschool

This is our 10th year homeschooling and it has looked very different each year. From doing it “all on my own” under the county for 6 years, can you sense that pride? I struggled with it when we started sending him to private homeschool 2 days a week for 3 years.  Now we’re back to on our own again … without the pride … it’s been an exciting journey.

We are enrolled at Circle Christian again, the private school for transcript purposes and sports. However he is home all 5 days this year.

We decided this was the best option because we are taking a 2 week trip to Italy in September and we do not want to worry about assigned homework, school attendance, etc. Plus we can really build his classes to compliment our trip to Europe!

Volunteer Hours: community play set design Swiss Family Robinson and church tech.

I am very proud of our son and his guitar playing. He is part of the student worship team at our church.

My 10th Grade Homeschool Goals:

love this kid where he is

see his gifting and talents rather than my expectations for him

raise the bar of acceptable writing assignments

help him to become more proactive

enjoy our LAST year homeschooling ~ yes! All 3 of us agree this is his LAST year homeschooling.

As great as this journey has been … we are all ready for him to attend the new public high school next year!

Honestly, Hubs has been ready for a few years. But this is the 1st time God has set my heart at complete ease. Even our son wants to go now when he’s never cared to go before!

We’re still uncertain how we’ll fit in the traveling – if at all. But I’d like to see him enjoy 3 years of high school.
