Spring Break

Spring Break did not go as planned but we enjoyed much sunshine and time together!

The weekend kicked off with a day at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. We walked around a bit but it was crazy packed. I stayed home Sunday to watch it on tv! We call it the best ‘viewing area’ (and hotdogs aren’t $5 a pop).

The boys enjoyed their spring break and no school work this week. We tried to visit my parents in the Keys, but we couldn’t get dog care. Then we tried to visit my father-in-law & hit New Orleans, but weather kept us home.

Spring Break

We may have been the only family in Florida not at the beach during Spring Break. We survived. Growing up at the beach … I try to stay away during holidays & breaks.

The boys spent some play time with friends which was nice since there were no ‘school activities’. I kept my Tuesday night bible study so we don’t fall behind.  Have I mentioned how I am loving A Woman’s Heart by Beth Moore?  Wow how I have missed an in-depth Bible study.

Spring Break and other school breaks like this I load up on library books and push reading. Even though the boys want to play Xbox all day long – my 30 minute screen time rule doesn’t change too much.

This week we received our 1st Raddish Kids box. I am trying hard to set aside one day for ‘cooking class’. I am hoping to teach my youngest some common cooking skills (chopping, dicing, sautéing) as well as what herbs taste good with what. Okay ~ I’m trying to teach myself these things and fill up the quality time !

Unfortunately, two of the three recipes were unappealing to my boy. I was hoping for more kid friendly dinners. I will have to think about it some more – if we’ll keep our subscription or not.

One evening this week we enjoyed walking around downtown and kept some swings busy. {this week I shared a QTM Tip about walking!}

Friday afternoon Hubs joined me for my favorite yoga class {lunch hour vinyasa flow} .

This weekend I’m back to looking for a great Asia hands-on activity for my Geography class and I’ll flirt with daring myself to do another Whole 30.

    What, Arnold Palmer Invitational, my hubs and kids would be jealous, they are serious about their golf! Me not so much!

      Yes, we’re spoiled. My husband is a golf course architect.
