After I created the famous Americans of the 20th Century, I knew I’d need to create a list for the 18th & 19th centuries. So I got busy compiling a list. I thought it would be easy – it wasn’t!
People Who Impacted American History – 18th Century
I really had to hunt around to find females & black people who did amazing things in the 1700’s, because naturally – we always focus on our Founding Fathers. And they were great. No complaints. But I wanted to find a few others to really feel good about completing this pack! As always with homeschooling my children I got my 2nd education on some really cool ladies who did some really cool things! All whom I’ve never heard of before – especially not in any of my high school classes! I hope the list inspires you to continue reading more about the “Less Popular” American Heroes – those you have to hunt around to find. Their stories are definitely worth the read!
These Famous American worksheets were created for 3rd-5th graders
The list includes: Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, Mary Musgrove, Abigail Adams, Phillis Wheatley, Molly Pitcher, Sybil Ludington, and Benjamin Banneker.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t include everyone. If you want to discover someone else just print this BLANK People Who Impacted American History sheet as many times as you need!

These sheets offer birth, death, a place to draw a portrait or something amazing they did, 5 interesting facts lines, and a box of accomplishments, quotes, and/or awards. I highly recommend reading as much about each person as possible and then picking a few favorite / interesting facts before feeling overwhelmed there isn’t enough room on the worksheet. The book has already been written – this is a more personal way for students to remember. If you track reading rewards or need to turn in book lists at the end of the year evaluation, I’ve offered a Biographies Reading List to track books!
