Y’all. What a week! And before I get to rambling like I normally do – I’m praying for you & your family. To be safe, healthy, clean, and getting through these crazy times!
I first heard about COVID-19 when there were 3,000 cases in China. It was late January and Hubs was going to Saudi Arabia for a trip. I begged him to take my Thieves hand sanitizer & face mask with him because I didn’t want him to get sick on the plane. We had no idea this would turn out to “jump the ocean” and affect us right here at home.
Last Friday, the 13th, we decided to keep Jake home from school as we did a “deep clean” of the house. I had purchased 3 Mrs. Meyers spray cleaners and we set off in different directions. One child wiping door handles, another wiping light switches. Seats, cabinets, remotes, phones – we set out to sanitize every surface. Over the weekend we wondered how we could help our community, but with new state rules – we couldn’t reach our community.
I figured the safest way I can help a mom was to offer some free printables, coloring pages, and downloads from here. It doesn’t feel like much – especially to another homeschool mom, but it’s something a mom suddenly home “distance learning” can use.
With help from Jake, my sketching cartoon artist, we came up with some new material, updated some old material, and hopefully will help some families. I’m aware my homeschooling friends do not need these resources, so I’m asking you to please pass them along to your friends!
New Free Resources: sketches by Jake Layton!
Bunny Bunch Coloring Pack – such adorable characters!
Dino Coloring Pack
Short Story Pages – I love my writers!
Hero Coloring Pages & Short Stories – lego mini figures
Alien Coloring Pack – it’s out of this world!
Math Dice Game, practice addition & subtraction skills
While Jake was sketching adorable bunnies he said, “I’m out of a job, too”. No restaurant work for teens right now. So I suggested he add a few extra pages to each pack – to create new ones & we offer the extras, in the shop, for a few dollars. I hope you’ll consider supporting a teen artist.
All the Lego eBooks – now free!
You can download all our old Brick eBooks for free – check them out here. It’s funny that we’re working together again on e-stuff. It’s been 4years since our last ebook.
Preschool Letter Hunts
Henry struggled with delayed fine motor skills, letter hunts & do-a-shapes helped him greatly. We love these Letter Hunts. Print one for Letter of the Day or print them all! We did all 26 English Alphabet letters!
Around the House Scavenger Hunts
We have a full page dedicated to Scavenger Hunts – but they’re out and about. At the library (currently closed) at the Grocery Store (currently empty) on a field trip (it’s cancelled). I know – I know! Not a lot of fun!
Well, we created an “Around the House” Scavenger Hunt for kids who love to hunt for things at home. Not my children because they refuse to move things around in the refrigerator to find the chocolate milk. But I hope – maybe – your kids will enjoy it! If you do not have something in the house, we think a picture of it will work too!
