When I started this blog I picked Quality Time Matters because it’s more than just quality time with my children. It’s quality time with Hubs. Quality time with friends. And quality time in prayer. So I am happy to start another month of Pray for Moms.
Pray for Moms started last February 2017. {You can hop over and read about it here} I can’t believe it’s almost been a year that I’ve been praying for mom friends !! I’ll be honest, some months have been hard. Some months I just wanted someone praying for me …. like every day. I guess raising a teenager will do that to any mom.
Well, it’s a new year and new year usually bring new excitement and new focus. Also new friends to pray for! Â So join me this month to pray for your mom friends.
January Pray for Moms!
It’s simple. I need simple, so it’s perfect. Every day pray for one mom friend. Each morning add her to your quiet time. You do not have to know the details of her situation. You don’t have to make awkward phone calls or texts asking her for a prayer request.
You don’t have to reach out at all. Honestly, you never ever ever have to tell her you prayed for her. Pray for Moms is all about filling your prayer time with names of women who need prayers. MOMS NEED PRAYERS!
It is easy to fill up a calendar of women’s names. Friends, Sisters, Neighbors, Workout Buddies, Teachers, Coaches, Pastor’s Wives, Bible Study Leaders, and you might be so inclined to pray for that one woman you never in a million years wanted to pray for … she needs prayers too y’all! Lord knows I’ve been that woman.
In the past I’ve given scripture readings, topics, and themes. I was asked for guidance and a format. Later I kept seeing verses about formulas and how our prayers can become legalistic. I hate that.
Prayers come from the heart and you don’t need me to help you get started. You just need a name. A woman’s name to whisper to God because He has put her on your heart. I trust God to do something with that!
I kept December quiet on purpose to flush out what was nagging at me and make sure this wasn’t turning into something it was never meant to become. I’m not writing a prayer book. I just want to pray for my mom friends, because I might be the only heart lifting them up that day.
Your mom friends need you and what better gift to give them is one day of prayer?! So spend some time before January 1st writing down 31 names. Trust me. It is better to have the names randomly down before you have to start praying! I have shared numerous times after I prayed for someone – something happened on that same day. I might have found out later, but the days matched!!
Prayer Calendars
I’m all about calendars. You can print this blank January 18 Pray for Moms Calendar and fill in your mom names. Or you can start a new calendar on your iphone and have that daily reminder.
You do not need to check in with me nor do you need to like anything on social media from Pray for Moms. This is totally between you and God. Just know you’re not the only one doing this – I promise! By the end of January you will have prayed for 31 moms. It’s an incredible feeling to stand in the gap for another.
If you do like reminders, you can follow Pray for Moms on Facebook & Instagram.
