I am having a blast coming up with interesting assignments for my Personal Fitness & Health Homeschool Class. I’m also learning so much right now as I take on Wellness Coaching Certification and 300 hr Yoga Teacher Training!
I have had some interest to “modify” the class for students who are already participating in organized sports. I’ve been asked to consider removing the “live” check-in yoga class days, Google Classroom grades, and offer instructions to assignments via pdf for a “self paced” class. Basically turning my live zoom class into a homeschool curriculum.
At this time I do not want to turn the “class” into “curriculum”.
I enjoy discussing with students thoughts, feelings, and projects. I don’t mind scratching the yoga class if someone is participating in weekly sports … but I just can’t seem to give up the zoom meetings yet. I believe teenagers need positive encouraging influences in their lives. Especially when big topics like stress, self image, etc. are being discussed. Some of these thoughts and feelings aren’t always easily shared with mom or dad. Thankfully, I have a few more months before next semester starts to consider it. Yet I feel like this is definitely a “class” not a “homeschool curriculum”.
My outdoor office is pretty cool too!
