Feb 18th kicks off the Great Backyard Bird Count. If you’re following my Instagram account you know I’m having less luck with attracting birds to my yard and far more success feeding squirrels & bunnies.
If you’re feeding furry friends instead of the feathered kind – this is a great post from Homeschool Nature Study, Attracting Birds to Your Yard.
GREAT BIRD RESOURCES!
I found this awesome bird identification download & post Top 28 Backyard Birds in Colorado. It is printed out and sits beside the kitchen window for any time we spot some little black-capped chickadees. So far everyone has seen a new bird at breakfast – so we quickly snag the sheet and try to identify the new bird together. We must look like a bunch of nuts to these birds outside the window.
I wish I would have seen this great bird pack from The Homeschool Scientist, when my boys were younger! This looks like it has all the educational bells and whistles needed for an awesome bird unit study.
Free Bird Tracking Sheet
For those of you who are more interested in tally marks than unit studies – I have an old Bird Tracking Sheet we used awhile back. This is very easy for little ones. Feel free to print it and use it this weekend!
Parables Study with Sketches
Last week I shared my new favorite creation, Parables Study with Sketches. I’m adding Matthew 6:25-27 Worry here since it’s a beautiful reminder of how God provides for the birds therefore we do not need to worry. Just click on the image to print.
Happy Bird Watching!
