Goodbye February! You’re usually my favorite month … my birthday, Valentine’s Day, the last of the cool weather in Florida. Sadly this year you were just too many days of the flu & allergies for me.
February did have a few bright spots:
1. Our new pet guinea pig, Artemis.
2. A scavenger hunt field trip to Disney Springs with our homeschool group.
3. Hawk nesting season. Many great days outside with binoculars, chalk pastels, and field guides.
4. Earlier tennis lessons and the upcoming competitive season.
In January we decided to put our youngest son’s name in the lottery for the local charter school. For two months we knew this was a great decision for everyone. Yet the week of the lottery all three of us were no longer comfortable with the idea. All for different reasons, we agreed to Homeschool for at least one more year.
I really thought Classical Conversations would be a wonderful fit for him, but sadly there are no openings for the upcoming school year.
Now I am looking into fifth grade curriculum choices. We discussed a few subjects and it’s been fun including him in the process.
He has some fun ideas I hope I can incorporate into “classes”.
