Oh happy day! Back to Classical Conversations. We had a monster long winter break and we’re so happy to be back to CC for Week 13.
Over the holiday we visited the Aquarium (read how I was pleasantly surprised), so Henry wanted to do his presentation on North American River Otters. They sure are cute!
We were also beyond THRILLED the tin whistle is over and we don’t have to hear any more off key sounds for the rest of the year! That was my bathroom break time. The class is now studying Famous Artist and they kicked it off with Rembrandt.
The best part of the day was the science experiments learning about sound waves. I was flipping through the science experiements books and ordered in on Amazon right away.
Lunch was spent in the Challenge A (7th grade) classroom listening to the students share their Science Fair presentations. I was incredibly impressed. The homeschoolers were dressed up professionally. The Science Fair boards were done so well. Each student spoke to the room with such ease and confidence. It was beautiful. Unlike some public school science fairs … no one walked around asking questions with students hoping they get passed by. These CC kids were more than prepared to share – without notes! I can not wait until Challenge starts.
CC was great but the highlight of our week was visiting our CC friend’s ranch. We’ve heard so much about their horses, goats, and chickens – we couldn’t wait to check it out.
I’m not sure if there is anything prettier than a Colorado ranch! It struck us funny her horses are from Florida. Thankfully the evening snow storms did not derail our trip. I was worried when we received “severe squall” alerts on our phones. The kids had a great time together and I am super thankful for new friends!
