One of the coolest things we discovered when we lived in Naples, FL was the Calico Box Crab.
Every night we took our snorkel masks down to the beach and enjoyed finding stone crabs and many seashells before sunset. It was how we spent most nights that summer.
One time we were casually taking a stroll along the beach and something with red spots caught my eye. Just like a true crab it stopped when I got closer. I imagine they’d be great at Red Light Green Light 123.
I had never seen such a beautiful crab before. Which isn’t saying much since there are only 6,793 different species of crab and I’ve probably seen about 5 oh them.
Needless to say, the Calico Box Crab is currently my favorite.
