Both my boys LOVED Ron Roy’s A-Z Mysteries. We made reading charts for the alphabet and every week rushed to our library to find the next one. The boys would get excited if they could “Scooby Doo” their way to the mystery before the book ended.
Since I am a big fan of discussing books we’re all reading and sharing what we like and dislike about them (please don’t get my youngest started on all the reasons he hated Door in the Wall), I thought it would be fun to offer you “Book Reviews” for ALL 26 A-Z Mysteries! Print all 26 now!
These reviews are an easy way to help readers start to get their thoughts about a book down on paper. All reviews include: Setting Box, 5 Favorite Things List, Climax & Resolution Box, and a star to “rank” the book. I chose boxes instead of many lines, because my boys seemed to be allergic of lines. Some days they just wanted to draw the setting than write it out. Remember, these book reviews are a starting point for great papers later!
After my boys read the series we found out the covers have all be redone, to look a bit more hip and cool. We agree the characters look a bit younger and lost the Hardy Boys look. A-Z Mysteries is written for 3rd-5th graders. Happy Reading!
Looking for BLANK BOOK REVIEWS?! I have 4 different colors for those as well. Help a student write a review for any book they are reading now!
TIP!! 3-hole punch their reviews and keep in a Literature binder. I was happy to offer Reading Rewards whenever my boys finished x amount of books. Let’s just say, we kept the donut shop in business.
